Good afternoon Morrisville M/S HS Community,

I hope that everyone had an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! We had a successful week in the M/S HS this past week. Students, staff, and families demonstrated the flexibility and effort needed to support all of our students during this unique Fall standardized testing experience. Everyone’s effort is sincerely appreciated! Below you will find a brief update as we enter the week.

    Fall Testing Update

We will be extending PSSA Make-up exams this week. However, there will be no changes made to the Middle/Senior High School Testing Calendar. The Guidance Department will be in touch with a small number of families to complete testing requirements.

    Back to School Night

Our annual Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 6:30 pm. We are excited to welcome our families back to the building this year!  More information on BTSN will be communicated early this week.

    TikTok Challenge

Recently, we have experienced a few incidents of vandalism in our M/S HS bathrooms due to a viral TikTok challenge, referred to as “Devious Lick.” Morrisville M/S HS, like many other schools, experiences student misbehavior and addresses the behavior accordingly. There are consequences in our District for this type of behavior, including those outlined in our Student Handbook, School Board Policy, and in extreme cases in accordance with our local police department. Most of our students do the right thing every day because it is the right thing to do, and we appreciate their positive choices. However, we understand that students make mistakes occasionally, and we are here to educate and support our students every step of the way. Please speak with your students about the potential consequences of participating in ill-advised social media challenges as we work together to encourage positive social media use and community connections.

Please stay connected to this blog, our District website, Facebook page, and as always, please get in touch with me at shaines@mv.org should you have any questions.

    Have a fantastic week!

    Thank you,

Good afternoon Morrisville M/S HS Community,

I hope that everyone is safe and sound after the recent storms and had an opportunity to enjoy the holiday break. As you may recall, our District decided last Spring to administer the 2020-2021 Pennsylvania Standardized Assessments (PSSA and Keystone Exams) in the Fall of the 2021-2022 school year. As a result, adjustments to our schedule and instructional model were made to effectively administer the required standardized assessments. Below you will find important information regarding the administration of these standardized assessments to our Middle and Senior High School students beginning Monday, September 13, 2021.

  • Welcome Back 2021-2022

Posted by Sean Haines on 8/20/2021 2:00:00 PM

Good afternoon Morrisville M/S High School Community,

We are ecstatic to welcome you back to a new school year filled with five days worth of in-person instruction!  Our faculty, staff, and administration have greatly missed interacting with our entire school community in person and look forward to resuming typical school days.  As the summer is coming to an end, we hope you are equally excited to return to the building and plan to show your Morrisville pride!  Our Marching Band and athletic teams are diligently preparing for their season each day and anticipate representing our school in their upcoming events.  We cannot wait to see how our students exhibit their talents throughout our extra-curricular activities this year.

Additionally, I am excited to introduce and welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Heather Brahan, to our Morrisville Middle/Senior High School community.  Mrs. Brahan brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to Morrisville and is eager to support our families, faculty, and staff as a member of our Administrative team.

Our first day of school will begin on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.  Middle and Senior High School students start their school day at 7:45 am and end at 2:30 pm.  Faculty are available for student support between 2:30 pm and 2:55 pm daily.  Additional information regarding the school year can be found below and should be reviewed with your scholar(s).

    Key Information

    • Face Coverings: Based upon the Bucks County Health Department’s guidance, masks are currently required within all indoor spaces.  This will be subject to ongoing review with updates provided to the community.
    • Chromebooks: Students will receive their devices during the first week of school; Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will be required to sign and submit a student equipment distribution form.
    • Book bags/Lockers: Students are permitted to use a book bag to carry their belongings throughout the school day.  Lockers and locks will be assigned to students to store excess belongings.

    PowerSchool/Schoology

In support of our commitment to academic excellence, Morrisville Middle/Senior High School has transitioned from Genesis and Google Classroom to the PowerSchool and Schoology platforms.  PowerSchool will act as our new Student Information System (SIS) to assist in maintaining student information and academic reportings.  Schoology is an interactive Learning Management System (LMS) that promotes digital inclusion within the classroom.  Both platforms provide parents, guardians, students, teachers, and administrators the opportunity to access and review student progress and information.  Parent/Guardian and student logins will be distributed by Mr. Jon Shiota, our Director of District Operations.  Please review our district website for further details regarding the process and timelines.

    School District Website

Please visit our District and M/S HS websites to remain up to date throughout the year on various important information, including the information included in this letter. In addition, the following essential information can be found on our websites:

    School Supplies

High School students (9-12) will be informed of any required school supplies during the first week of school based on the individual needs of their courses.  Supply lists for Middle School students (6-8) can be found on the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Team websites.  All students will be required to bring their charged district device and charger to school each day.

To ensure the safety of all individuals, students are not permitted to arrive on campus before 7:15 am.  Students who desire to eat a school breakfast will be permitted to enter through the rear Great White Lobby entrance. Note:  Non-Discrimination In-School and Classroom Practices, Policy #103 and other related policies; #103.1 Non-Discrimination – Qualified Student with Disabilities; #104 Non-Discrimination in Employment and Contract Practices; in their entirety can be found on the Morrisville Borough School District website.
