Internet Safety

  • This year, our school will be adopting a great new tool, which is a Bully Free program.  Using this program, we will hold classroom meetings which address important issues related to bullying.  Although we can work hard at school to tackle bullying issues, another place where bullying issues surface is through the Internet in the form of Cyber Bullying.  In past years, we have been given several complaints by students that they are being bullied online through social networking sites.  Below are some tips for you to help us to tackle Cyber Bullying issues.

    Internet Safety Tips:

1.Monitor your child's Internet use and make sure that you know who they are chatting with online.

2.Check your child's social networking pages, if they have one, to make sure that they are not sharing personal information.  Also, you can check to see if Cyber Bullying might be occuring.

3.Encourage your children to report to you any comments made by others which could be Cyber Bullying.

4.Hold conversations with your child about Internet safety.

If we work together as a team, we can conquer Cyber Bullying problems.
