Special Events Each year, the elementary schools are involved in special events, mainly parent-teacher-student nights. These events expose parents to exciting activities that their children have been doing. One such theme is the Literacy Appreciation Night/Literacy Fair. When we host this event, we have some really cool posters on display. We design the posters so that we can show how much we enjoy reading! Here are some helpful reading hints: Another special event, done this year, was the "Walking Fete" event sponsored by The Links, Inc. The third through fifth graders researched places to visit. Students then pretended that they were on a trip somewhere, designed a postcard picture, and wrote a postcard to a friend, describing their "vacation."
